Personal trainer

About Tim

Tim used to work in property. He thought he was enjoying it, but it was slowly boring him to distraction. It turns out he has to move to think.

When he was younger, Tim wasn't particularly sporty, but he loved gymnastics and breakdancing. As he got older, he began to lose the physical abilities he'd gained while dancing and somersaulting about the place. The few sporty things he still enjoyed suddenly became painful, more of a chore than a pleasure.

When he left the property world, Tim set out to regain some of the flexibility and skill of his younger years. It was then that it dawned on him: if he was struggling to move the way he wanted at 28, surely people his age and older must be in the same boat.

So he became a personal trainer, and he calls it the best decision he's ever made.

For Tim, both professionally and personally, helping people become stronger, more flexible, more confident and, above all, happier in themselves is what it truly means to live and breathe your work.

About Laura

With over 15 years’ experience as a secondary school science teacher, Laura has always been passionate about helping people learn, grow and feel their best.

Her own fitness journey has always been varied, from running and resistance training to yoga and Pilates. She discovered mat Pilates in her early 20s while managing ongoing back problems and quickly experienced the benefits it brought to her strength, mobility and overall wellbeing. Over time, she became a real believer in the power of Pilates and the positive impact that regular movement can have on both body and mind. Being an active person, passionate skiier, Laura sees the many benefits of enhancing and maintaining physical health.

After moving out of London in 2020, Laura missed having such a wealth of fitness options readily available. This is one of the things she loves most about Harris Collective — bringing a variety of high-quality classes together and making it easier to prioritise health and fitness without having to leave home, even when life is busy.

After several years of thinking about becoming a Pilates teacher, Laura finally took the plunge in early 2025 - and hasn’t looked back! Her science background supports her love for anatomy and movement. She loves sharing her passion for movement and helping others feel stronger, healthier and more confident in their bodies.

Alongside Harris Collective, Laura continues to enjoy one-to-one science tutoring and feels incredibly lucky to combine her love of teaching, fitness and helping others with family life.

Tai Chi & QiGong

About Doris

Doris has always enjoyed movement! She started Ballett and Gymnastics as a youngster and then danced Ballroom and Latin competitions for over 10 years. After her competitive carreer Doris qualified as dance teacher showing her students how joyful and rewarding it is to move with the flow of the music. A large part of dance coaching is analysing the dancers movements and correcting at slower speeds initally.

This slow moving dance practice sparked Doris’s interest in Tai Chi and opened up a whole new insight how to move smoothly and use breathing techniques to aid the movement. She’s gone on to qualify as Tai Chi instructor and also specialised in audio described Tai Chi classes for visually impaired and blind people.

Observing how we move and how we control our movement will help us to understand our bodies better. Listening to our movement and breathing as we practise Tai Chi and QiGong, we take time to observe, improve and enhance how we feel. We relax muscles, mobilise joints, improve our balance and activate circulation. Breathing deeply will fill us with energy and, at the same time, calm us.
